I say big bear. I say little bear. We have had more luck at big bear. We have caught better quality fish at little bear. So little bear it is. Hey. Did you put the tackle box in the truck. Of course. It’s perfect weather for fishing this morning. That it is. I’m going to start with topwater. You start with whatever you think will work. I will. I’m gonna go fish by the docks. I would use a jig if I was you. Good point. How many did you Catch? I caught two but one was over four pounds, What about you? So far only three and all pretty small. Thank you for taking me Grandpa. I was more than happy too. It was a pretty good day of fishing, I would say. We have had worse and better days then today. Yeah can’t argue with that. Exactly. Thanks again for taking me I had fun. Your welcome, I had fun too. This morning was like no other, the temperature was perfect, there was no wind, the water was calm, the pressure was high, and all the fish were pushed up shallow. I started this day on a bad note because I forgot the plug on the boat and it started to sink when we launched the boat but thankfully the trailer was still in the water and we put the boat back up on the trailer pulled it out and put the plug in it. Then we launched it again and everything went as planned. I rigged up my first fishing rod with a topwater frog because the fish were up shallow underneath the lily pads, my first cast I had a fish blow up on the frog but I could not set the hook in time. Then a couple cast later my dad catches a four pound bass and we had only been fishing for five minutes, so we both knew it was gonna be a good day. We was trolling down the edge of the bank and I seen huge ripples up by the shore but couldn’t tell what it was so I took my other rod that had a jig on it, I flip it into the pads and jig it up and down a couple times, the next thing I know there’s a dead weight on the end of my line so I set the hook as hard as possible and the fish heads towards deeper water I had 50 pound braid on so I thought I could easily just pull the fish in and not worry about the line snapping. I finally get the fish were we can see it after I fought it for a couple minutes then when I see it I scream “grab the net”, so my dad grabs it and I try just pulling the fish into the net and when I tried he still had a lot of energy, when this forty inch pike darted underneath the boat it cut my line on the bottom of the boat. It was probably the biggest pike of my life and after that morning I realized to not rush things because if I wound not have rushed getting that fish in the net I probably would of caught my personal best pike. I kept my head up and kept fishing I caught five bass later that day but nothing special. I’m just thankful I got to spend time with my dad and also to even hook that big of a fish.
